WORLD WIDE MIND - MICHAEL CHOROST

====================================================================================

When I read any book, I scribble my comments / notes in the margins

These reflect my views / opinions about what the author is saying – including my disagreement

Often, my comments are in the nature of telling myself :

Hey ! We should try out this idea in our own business ( Head-hunting / Online Recruitment )

Following are my comments re :

Pg. No. 1

·         (01-06-12)

Pg. No. 3

·         Augmented reality?

·         In all resumes in Customize Resume, we have placed a hyperlink under “Candidate-Name”, - clicking which displays Google Results for that person. A hyperlink under “Birth Date”, shows results from Wolfram Alphas, when clicked.

Pg. No. 5

·         See my note re: widget “Make a Friend”.

Pg. No. 7

·         If, Resume Blaster Widget could enable jobseekers to blast their resumes 950,000 employers, by simply touching (no typing) their smart phone screens, such performance / usage can be expected.

·         Resume Blaster, will be, all about “HOPE” for a better tomorrow.

·         May be they will enjoy neither.

Pg. No. 9

·         If

·         Jobs can be delivered to jobseeker’s mobiles the moment they get posted anywhere on the net, and

·         Jobseekers enabled to “Apply” instantly

Pg. No. 11

·         Someday

·         A Recruiter carries all his “Vacancies” (Post Job equivalent) on his smartphone

AND

·         All jobseekers will carry their “Resumes” (Submit Resume) on their own smartphones when such two people are in close proximity, the smartphones will exchange data, thru internet (Wi Max) & alert each

·         (01-06-12)

·         Pg. No. 15

·         As Scott McNally says, “Privacy is dead-Period”.

Pg. No. 26

·         By 2012, surely, mobile phone has displaced TV!!

Pg. No. 28

·         We can’t even cope with Google!

Pg. No. 29

·         Some 40 years ago, Pope, Paul the XVI, had cautioned humanity against undertaking such a venture. He was afraid; most of us would not want to continue living, if we could “know”, what our friends and relatives “think” about us!

·         (11-06-2012)

Pg. No. 43

·         In my emails (June 8/9, 2012) to Shuklendu, I have laid down “Logic” to be followed in “Job Alerts Recommendation” algorithm, which will be based on “Jobs Applied History” of each candidate. I have suggested to highlight / hyperlink (to Wikipedia) “keywords” found in each recommended advt. obviously these are the very same keywords which that candidate has “seen” in previous advt. – and may be the keywords that made him “Apply” against those previous advs. so, when he, once again “sees” those same keywords in next job advt., his (pleasant?) memory will make him “Like” this next advt.!!

·         (17-06-12)

Pg. No. 44

·         My attempt should be to “trigger” in the brain of the jobseeker, “pleasant / happy” memories, upon viewing a job alert “recommended” by our algorithm. When he sees the SAME keywords, will it make him feel “GOOD”?

Pg. No. 49

·         I am looking for a “pattern” of keywords, in (say) 100 ads a candidate has “Applied for”, earlier. The higher the frequency, the higher the “Weightage”, for a given keyword. So, it tells me what Advt. (containing keywords with high weightage) will “appeal” to him “weightages” are my “prior knowledge”.

·         If he has liked these “keywords” in the past then, he is likely to “like” them in future as well. Deciphering “intention”

·         Pg. No. 61

·         At a superficial level, this hunger, this urge, must be getting fulfilled by mobile phones. Why else, are youngsters talking on mobile or texting, all the time?  And everyone glued to some or other “screen” all the time? – Mobile – Tablet – PC – TV.

·         (18-06-12)

Pg. No. 76

In “Jobs Applied History”, we will capture / store / analyse data, re:

·         How many jobs did each candidate apply for, in each period

·         Whom (which company) did he apply for.

Pg. No. 78

·         This is how, we will setup a “Closed Loop” network of information flow (flow of Resumes and Job Advs.) between

·          Jobseekers

·         &

·          Employers

Pg. No. 82

·         A person “sees” what he wants to see, and “hears” what he wants to hear.

·         My emails db. June 08/09,

Pg. No. 83

·         Shiva Park           = 45, 50, 95

·         Jehu                      =57, 78, 34

Pg. No. 85

·         It is quite possible that (50 years from now), everyone may NOT want to,

·           Get chips implanted in their brains

·           Get connected to millions / billions, thru internet. Will they have this “Option”?

Pg. No. 99

·         See article from today’s DNA

·         (26-06-12)

·         Even I have fallen for this! But only for emails from people I have known & occasionally meet. Mostly emails (if any) from Sentient or Daeawind

·         (27-06-12)

Pg. No. 101

·         In “My Jobs”, we are presenting a jobseeker with only 5 jobs – advs. ; and presenting another 5, if he opens / views a “Product Advert”, delivered by Yahoo / In Mobi Ad Network (our revenue source). Rewarding jobseeker every time he views a product advt. Like a “Conditioned Reflex”. I do hope, jobless will find this addictive.

·         (28-06-12)

Pg. No. 102

·         I suppose, today’s online / offline Video Games playing, by people of all ages, is a beginning!

Pg. No. 128

·         An actual case was shown on Discovery Science Channel, 2 days back.

·         (23-08-13)

Pg. No. 131

·         For a child, these could well be “Sound Memo rig” of mother saying “Red” while holding up a red object.

·         Associated sound

Pg. No. 133

·         Fuzzy logic

Pg. No. 134

·         About 15 years ago, I had first read about this and designed (Conceptually) a website around this concept. Later on someone actually hosted a website, Six-degrees.com I believe it closed down. But someday, I will try & find my hand-written note.

·         (23-08-12)

·         Thru our planned “Jobs Applied History”, weightages (found in applied jobs), would get revised on a continuous basis – and “self-correct”  in order to deliver, ever more relevant job alerts to each candidate.

·         (02-09-12)

Pg. No. 142

·         What about “over-loading” of your brain? Why did nature provide us with the “Safety Valve” 99% of what we see / hear / read / experience?

·         (03-09-12)

Pg. No. 143

·         Google never “forgets”, any webpage, it crawls / indexes. So when you type “Jobs” in Google, it returns 3 BILLION pages! But no one goes beyond 3 pages! Google provides “vaw info” – it does not provide “Answers to your problems!

·         What about our “secret” thoughts? [Everyone has some – now and then] Do you wish to “share” with your friends / colleagues / relatives, ALL of your thoughts? Many may commit suicide!

Pg. No. 144

·         1984?

·         Big Brother watching every move – OR watching every thought of everybody.

·         Thank God!

·         Pope Paul XVI warned against this! 30 yrs. ago!!

Pg. No. 145

·         Based on Jobs Applied History – frequency of occurrence of keywords, if we highlight in the next job – advt., those keywords, will that (stored memory of past pleasurable experience), motivate a jobseeker to want to “repeat” his past action (of “applying against)? Does “Frequency of Keywords” table, capture his “dreams”?

·         (03-09-12)

Pg. No. 147

·         Similarity to our own “Jobs Applied History”:

Ø  Arrange in descending order (of frequencies of occurrence),

·         Keywords

·         Company Names

·         City names

·         Obviously, any NEXT job advt. that contains the top-listed

1.       Keywords as also

2.       Company Name as also

3.       City Name would be the best “match”!

·         (03-09-12)

Pg. No. 157

·         4/5 days back, I sent to Shuklendu, proposed U/I for “
Jobs Applied History” ADMIN page, where the tabulations, will reveal the “patterns “&” regularities” of each jobseekers “likes” for jobs

·         (11-09-12)

·         Based on these “patterns” our algorithm will recommend future jobs.

Pg. No. 170

·         When our “Jobs Applied History” starts working, we too, would know the “Intensity” with which different kinds of jobs are being “searched”

·         (17-10-2012)

·         Frequency

Pg. No. 171

·         Output of compilation / analysis of “Jobs Applied History”, is “Jobs Recommendation System”. Once we have proof that this logic is working well – and improving over time -, we will enable each candidate view his own “history”

·         (19-09-12)

Pg. No. 172

·         “More than proportionate” – as in a graph of two variables.

Pg. No. 174

·         Innovation Vs. Invention

Pg. No. 179

·         We have 3 million job – advs. on our web Server but I have yet to figure out, how to make these “useful” to jobseekers & employers

·         (19-09-12)

Pg. No. 189

·         Internet will create the ultimate

·         ¾ TTr3?

Pg. No. 201

·         May be by 2030

·         Huge risk

Pg. No. 203

·         What Arvind Kejriwal is doing right now
